A huge welcome to Transport Planner, Chris Long

The planning team at Ridge extend a warm welcome to Chris Long who joins the transport planning team as a Partner within Ridge. Chris will lead a transport planning team in Bristol.
Chris is a chartered Transport Planner with a MSc in Transport Planning. He has 15 years’ experience working in the private sector for a mix of private and public sector clients on a variety of commissions.
With a wealth of previous experience as a project manager and project director working on a range of development projects, Chris also has detailed experience of traffic impact studies for both commercial and residential developments as well as technical transport studies for public sector clients such as Transport for London.
Chris’s work portfolio includes; local transport plan and local plan reviews and submission of transport representations, planning appeals, highways development control for local authorities and Highways England, urban transport studies, traffic management studies, transport interchange study and design, highways master-planning, and transport assessments and travel plans.
Chris also has considerable Public Inquiry experience, successfully delivering developments on proposals that have been unreasonably refused. Recently, Chris has been successful in overturning South Somerset District Council’s decision to refuse a development of 27 dwellings in Castle Cary and North Somerset Council’s decision to refuse development of 59 dwellings at Wrington.
