Another year, another Christmas trip

17 December 2017 | Ridge News

After a very early start and arrival at Heathrow Airport it was revealed that this year’s destination was Warsaw.

The annual “newbie” challenge got underway with four new members of staff donning silly costumes including a yellow M&M, giant crayon, tequila bottle and Ali G causing quite a stir as they boarded the plane.

Upon arrival the group headed towards the old market square for lunch and sampled a number of local delicacies including Pierogi (dumplings) and kapusta kiszona (sauerkraut) before moving on to explore the traditional Christmas markets and ice skating in the old town. Which was followed by some much needed mulled wine!

The group then returned to the hotel and headed for pre-dinner drinks at the Panorama Sky Bar a whole 40 floors up giving incredible night time views across the city. Then it was onto dinner at a nearby restaurant where Hunter Page style top trumps and games were played much to the enjoyment of the group, then it was onto the nightlife district to see what the city had to offer and a Cuban style club proved very popular with everyone especially Chloe who gave us our very own salsa lesson on the dance floor, followed by some interesting attempts at break dancing later in the evening.

After the late night it was an early start with some members of the group even fitting in a morning swim and spa session to ease their heads it was onto another traditional indoor market for the final meal and discussions of the previous night’s events. Then all too soon it was time to leave and back on the plane we went until next year..
