HPP take a visit to bakery school

Mark Chadwick and his team had a tasty bread making day at Graham’s Bakery School in Quedgeley at the beginning of this month as a late Christmas do. The course began at breakfast time, where they were welcomed with freshly baked croissants. Throughout the day, the team learnt to make a white loaf from scratch by using their hands and a machine. They then were taught the different hand techniques to mould and shape the dough, and were encouraged to produce either a cob, loaf or baguette.
Throughout the day, Graham enlightened the team on the knowledge of traditional baking, and showed the team they don’t have to perform special tricks when kneading and shaping the dough (unlike Paul Hollywood on the Bake Off)!
A delicious lunch was then prepared for them at the end of the day whilst they were waiting for the final reveal of their baked goods. All bakes were successful and it was safe to say they didn’t go home empty handed. The remaining HPP team are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to try out their newly acquired baking skills.
