Planning permission granted for the redevelopment of the Former Cotswold BMW site, Cheltenham

HPP have secured planning permission for the redevelopment of the former BMW site to retail and leisure use. The site, which forms part of the Kingsditch Trading Estate, is currently occupied by BMW which is in the process of relocating to a larger site within Cheltenham.
The approved scheme will allow up to 3,900 sq m floor space of Class A1 (shops), 1,400 sq m Class D2 (Gymnasia) and 600 sq m of A4 (drinking establishments). The approved scheme has already attracted retail giants TK Maxx and Brantano.
Sustainability is a core philosophy to the development resulting in a built form which is of the highest quality, incorporating a number of environmental credentials including the following:
- Maximisation of light penetration
- Sustainable drainage solutions
- High quality landscaping
- High standards of thermal and noise insulation
The approved development will deliver a high quality design which responds to its local context and introduce an active commercial use to the street scene.
