24 July 2019 | Ridge News
On behalf of Kidderminster Property Investments, outline planning permission has been granted for the regeneration of a brownfield site in Churchfield, Kidderminster to facilitate up to 240 dwellings and 670 sqm of mixed use floor space.
Project led by the planning team at Ridge, the permitted scheme offers a number of benefits including the provision of a variety of house types, employment opportunities, provision of a new road and one way system through the area to improve air quality and securing a viable use for a non-designated heritage asset. The approved scheme, which represents a sustainable form of development, will enhance the visual amenities of the area.
The subject site is an important component for the District Council's vision of regenerating Churchfields and an overall enhancement of Kidderminster Town Centre. Indeed the Churchfields area is the focus of WFDC's plans for central Kidderminster to create a mix of residential, business and leisure uses. The approved scheme therefore complies fully with the Council's vision for the area and is consistent with the forward growth strategy for Kidderminster.
The planning team at Ridge were responsible for leading a specialised team on the project, holding extensive pre-application discussions with the LPA and preparing the application package. Negotiations with the LPA and the monitoring of the application were on going throughout the decision making process.
