HPP secures future residential use for listed barns within Cotswold District
The barns, which are currently redundant, form part of Bibury Farm, a mid 19th Century 'model' farmstead located within the Cotswolds AONB. HPP contended that whilst any change of use would have some impact upon the character of the building, the proposals for the conversion would have little or no impact on their significance in heritage terms or on the setting of the listed farmhouse.
The barns are no longer used in association with the farming activities at Bibury Farm, having been replaced by modern buildings. Due to neglect, the barns are in a state of disrepair. Negotiations have been on going between HPP, the client and Cotswold District Council since November 2014. The proposal has therefore evolved over some time to ensure a sympathetically designed scheme which ensured the protection of the hertitage asset.
The approved development will ensure the barns' repair, restoration and maintenance in perpetuity.
