Ridge has a dynamic and experienced team of professional staff assisted by a dedicated administration and technical team. We have a core team who have a detailed understanding and knowledge of the Development Control System and Development Plan process.
Our team members have considerable experience in dealing with a variety of planning matters and a proven track record in undertaking and managing a wide range of tasks associated with the successful planning promotion of land and buildings. Our expertise ranges from preparing development briefs and environmental assessments through to professional witnesses at public inquiries. As Chartered Town Planners all our staff are fully versed in the latest planning guidance.
In addition to the senior members of staff, a number of junior members of staff form an important part of our team.
Paul Fong BA (Hons), MRTPI – Equity Partner
Paul’s planning career began in 1989 where he gained experience in local government before progressing into the private sector prior. In 1993, Paul established Hunter Page Planning, a private planning consultancy based in Cheltenham, dealing with planning work across the country. Paul has comprehensive experience in dealing with a variety of planning projects for major commercial developers, house builders, and national PLCs. Paul has long since worked along with many development partners to release and maximize development opportunities.
Paul is an active member of the local community, playing an instrumental role in the creation of the Gloucestershire Design Panel in 2011, where he was chair until January 2015. Paul has also been involved with the Gloucestershire LEP since its inception in 2011 and plays a crucial role in promoting and securing economic development in the County. Paul also organises and chairs the Planning Matters Forums which are seminars attended by those involved in the planning profession and which are held in Cheltenham on a regular basis.
Paul’s efforts to drive the Gloucestershire economy forward have been recognised by Gloucestershire First Local Enterprise Partnership, when in 2013 he was awarded with a GL First LEP Ambassador Award.
Outside work Paul is a keen cyclist and enjoys spending time with his family.
Mark Chadwick BA (Hons), Dip TP, MRTPI – Partner
Mark’s career in town planning started in 1990. He has considerable experience of planning and development projects both in the private and public sector. Mark undertakes a range of consultancy tasks providing town planning services to private and public sector clients. While having a detailed working knowledge of the development management system, Mark has a specialist background in rural planning and urban growth areas; including planning policy frameworks, strategic planning and master planning. Mark also provides expert planning witness services.

Giles Brockbank Dip TP, MRTPI – Partner
Giles is one of the four Directors at Hunter Page and advises a wide range of private developers, house builders and landowners on a variety of development projects across the Country. He has over 15 years experience in residential, mixed-use, regeneration, commercial and rural development relating to individual planning proposals, strategic promotion of land for development as part of the development plan process and advising on, submitting and negotiating planning applications. He has specific expertise in residential, mixed use, care related schemes, proposals relating the historic environment and rural development projects and has a very successful record in helping his clients realise the development potential of their land and property interests.
Guy Wakefield - BA (Hons), Dip TP, MRTPI – Partner
Guy started his career working briefly in local government before moving to Hunter Page where he has now been employed since 1999. He specializes in providing planning advice on a range of matters including initial site appraisals, planning applications (including Environmental Impact Assessments) and the promotion of land through the Local Development Framework process. He works on a wide range of projects across the country, with experience in residential, commercial, education and care home development.
Outside work Guy enjoys playing golf, skiing and cycling.
Jamie Lewis - Dip TP, MRTPI – Associate Planner
Jamie has been working in Town and Country Planning since the mid 1980s. He provides town planning advice to a range of public and private sector clients concerning strategic and local policy issues; good practice procedures; and residential, commercial, and mixed use development projects. Within these fields he has dealt with a wide range of planning schemes including the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments and appeal work at Informal Hearings and Public Inquiries. Jamie specialises in strategic planning matters.
James Griffin - MA, MRTPI – Associate Planner
James has had 10 years experience with Tewkesbury Borough Council and approximately six months with Cotswold District Council. Throughout his time with these local authorities, James has gained experience within both the Development Management and Enforcement teams. James therefore brings with him a wealth of knowledge regarding planning issues within these two authorities.
He has extensive experience of working with chief officers and senior politicians which will be highly beneficial to our clients.
Outside of work James enjoys competitive road cycling, architecture, travel and music.
Anne Pawsey - BA (Hons), MRTPI – Senior Planner
Anne commenced her planning career in 1991 and has dealt with a wide variety of planning and development projects. Prior to joining the Hunter Page Planning team 10 years ago, Anne has worked in both the local government and the private sector. Anne has considerable experience of preparing and submitting proposals, and guiding them through planning application process. She has also had considerable experience in the appeal process, successfully obtaining planning permission for a number of schemes via the various methods of appeal. Anne is now responsible for the production of the company’s newsletter.
Away from the office, Anne is a keen runner and assists in the organisation of a local running club.
Jenny Henderson - BSc (Hons) MSc, MRTPI – Senior Planner
Jenny joined Hunter Page in October 2012, having completed an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Birmingham. She has worked on wide range of projects across the country including residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use schemes. She manages her own projects alongside providing a supporting role to both Giles Brockbank (Director) and Paul Fong (Managing Director). Jenny has experience in undertaking site appraisals, as well as the preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications and appeals which includes producing supporting technical documentation.
Outside of work, Jenny plays hockey for a local team, and she also enjoys travel, photography and music.
Tara Maizonnier - BA (Hons) MSc, MRTPI – Senior Planner
Tara joined Hunter Page in April 2013 following completion of an MSc in Spatial Planning at Oxford Brookes University. She manages a wide range of projects including residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes alongside providing a supporting role to both Giles Brockbank (Director) and Paul Fong (Managing Director). Tara has experience in undertaking site appraisals, the preparation, submission and negotiation of a variety of planning applications and appeals as well as the preparation and co-ordination of Environmental Impact Assessments.
Emma Greening - BSc (Hons) – MA, MRTPI – Senior Planner
Emma joined the team here at HPP in November 2015. After obtaining her MSC at University of the West of England, Emma was employed within the public sector for over 4 years where she obtained valuable experience at Crawley Borough Council and Horsham District Council. Whilst at Crawley and Horsham, Emma worked on a variety of interesting projects including large scale commercial schemes, and proposals for development within the airport. She also obtained a clear understanding of the issues relating to planning within rural areas including a National Park. Emma therefore brings with her a wealth of experience in the planning field and a broad knowledge of the South East, which will no doubt prove to be particularly beneficial to clients.
Emma will be building on her planning experience here at HPP, assisting Director, Giles Brockbank, in a wide range of planning projects.
Outside the office, Emma enjoys a variety of outdoor pursuits such as walking. When time permits, she also enjoys baking.
Alena Dollimore Jasanova – BA (Hons) MSc – Planner
Alena graduated from University of Westminster in 2008 gaining BA Property with Business which focused on property valuation and management which provided her with a broad understanding of both residential and commercial property issues. After a long sabbatical leave in Spain, she returned with her family to complete an MSc in Spatial Planning and Development at University of Reading.
After the graduation she worked for Woolf Bond Planning in Reading where she worked on a wide range of projects, including promotion of strategic housing sites, preparation of evidence for planning inquiries, and preparation of planning and appeal statements – a valuable experience she is bringing to HPP which she joined in February 2018.
Outside work Alena enjoys spending time with her family and tending her allotment.
Claudia Jones BA (Hons) Assistant Planner –
Since obtaining an Urban and Regional Planning BSc degree from the University of Birmingham, and gaining work experience at Birmingham City Council’s enforcement sector, Claudia has gained a graduate role at Hunter Page. Whilst undergoing her masters in Urban and Regional Planning at the same university, starting September 2017, Claudia will be assisting Mark and his team as a graduate planner.
In her spare time Claudia enjoys writing her blog, cooking, travelling, dancing, running and going to the gym.
Nathan Halloran BA (Hons) MA – Assistant Planner
Since obtaining his MA in Planning, Policy and Practice at London South Bank University, Nathan has gained an Assistant Planner role at Ridge. His former experience at planning consultancy Quod in London and his background in research will help ensure Nathan complements the team. Nathan will be working alongside Ridge partner Giles Brockbank.
Outside work Nathan enjoys travelling, gym, rugby and diving.
Jack Livingstone BA (Hons) MSc – Assistant Planner
Jack joined Ridge as an assistant planner in May 2019, following the completion of his Msc in Urban Design and International Planning from the University of Manchester. He will use a multitude of skills acquired from his degree while he assists Partner, Mark Chadwick and his team.
Out of the office Jack enjoys walking, reading and learning about architecture
George Elston - MPlan (Hons) – Assistant Planner
George joined Ridge as an Assistant Planner in June 2019, following the completion of his Mplan in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Sheffield. He will use a multitude of skills acquired from his degree while he assists Partners, Giles Brockbank and Guy Wakefield and their team.
Outside of the office George is a keen road cyclist.
Deborah Piaskowska – Practice Manager
Deborah Piaskowska joined the administration team in 2015 as an Administration Assistant. Prior to joining the team Deborah, had previously worked for Intelligent Office UK in Cheltenham and brought a wealth of experience in the administrative field.
Since joining HPP, Deborah has obtained a number of qualifications and has been promoted to Practice Manager.
Outside the office, Deborah enjoys hiking, climbing and art.
Holly Jacques – Administration Assistant
Holly joined the administration team in July 2019. Before working with Ridge, Holly previously worked for an Insurance company for 4 and a half years specialising in Customer Service & Back Office Admin. Prior to that she worked in completely different roles: hairdressing & catering. Holly therefore brings a wealth of administrative skills with her and which will be beneficial to the team.
In Holly’s spare time, she enjoys going on holiday and exploring different places, she also enjoys baking/cooking and trying different foods. She also likes music and loves going for walks with her Husky.
